10 reasons investors with a system of their own add the professionals

You're not starting from zero. You have rules, some wins and a process that mostly holds. Investor Plus puts two analysts' levels beside yours every weekday, and twice a week you can ask them why theirs differ.

What every formal recommendation looks likeExample
TARGET 2.30 BUY UNDER 2.00 STOP 1.85
Buy under$2.00
Stop$1.85
Target$2.30
Illustrative example only, not a real recommendation. Every formal Investor Plus recommendation gives you all three numbers before you buy.

Testimonials are from real members, in their own words. Their results are not typical and yours will vary. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future performance.

Reason 01 · The levels

Put your levels next to an analyst's

You already set exits. The question is whether your levels hold up against people who do this for a living. Every formal recommendation in Investor Plus arrives with three numbers: the price to buy under, the stop-loss guidance and a target with a timeframe.

Lay those beside your own. Where you agree, you act with more conviction. Where you differ, you've found something worth asking about. Either way, your process stays yours. Bring the differences to the live sessions and hear the reasoning behind them.

"The guesswork is gone and there is no panic buying or selling since finding Dave and Pete. … using the Cincinnati method the entry and exit points are laid out clearly."
Craig M.
"I like hearing the reasons behind the views and then making my own choices. … as an Economist by trade, I find it educational, interesting and entertaining."
Bryan T.
Reason 02 · The stop

The stop is decided before the buy

Equity Story's rule is short: decide the exit before the entry, then stick to it. The stop-loss guidance tells you, ahead of time, how much you're prepared to lose on a position. When a share turns, you step aside at the line and keep your capital for the next idea.

Most investors know they should work this way. Few keep it up on their own. Members say this is the habit that changed their results. And calls do miss: stops are guidance and prices can gap past them. The stop is what keeps a miss small.

"The losses I have sustained have been aggravated through my own fault by not following Dave's advice of using an 8% stock loss. Since I have been using the stock loss I have gained considerably…"
Gregory D.
"They do not get 100% of their calls correct, but they do very well."
Roy R.
Reason 03 · The team

A chartist and a fundamentalist, covering your blind spot

Most self-taught systems lean one way: the chart or the business. Every recommendation here has to get past both. David reads the chart, with 30+ years on the ASX. Pete reads the business, with 23+ years in equity research. When one of them isn't convinced, you hear the argument.

Equity Story Pty Ltd holds AFSL 343937 and is part of ASX-listed Aland Equity Group (ASX: AEG). You don't have to take our word for any of it. Check the licence, check the ticker.

"They are the only service I am aware of that combines the Fundamentals of investing with the movement of the price over time via Charting."

Reason 04 · Live

Ask The Analyst: test your process live, twice a week

Tuesday at 7pm or Friday at 12pm AEST/AEDT, you're on Zoom with David and Pete. Bring the stop you set last week and ask where they'd put it. Bring the position your rules say to hold and hear whether they agree. The recordings sit in the archive, so you can go back over any answer.

"The personal support and ability to interact with the lead analysts is what makes this product a no brainer."

"The Ask the Analysts sessions have been invaluable to assess shares I have bought as I navigate and build my portfolio."

Reason 05 · Daily

Daily Market Edge: 15–20 minutes, every weekday

David and Pete record it at their desks every weekday, with no studio and no script: what the ASX did, which shares they like and why, and the buy-under, stop and target for each formal recommendation.

Watch it with your morning coffee or on the commute. Most members fit it around a full-time job.

"The guesswork is gone and there is no panic buying or selling since finding Dave and Pete. … using the Cincinnati method the entry and exit points are laid out clearly."
Craig M.
Reason 06 · Sunday

The team's best idea for the week, in your inbox on Sunday night

Hot Stocks Weekly Pick is the team's highest-conviction idea for the week ahead, with entry, stop and target guidance. Read it on Sunday evening and Monday morning starts with the plan already written.

"A couple of days later and sold back out of it with a nice 15% return. Just on that one trade. Thats why I'm sticking with these guys."
Greg M.

Reason 07 · Signals

Einstein's Report: a second read on what you hold

Every week the shares the team follows get a signal: Buy, Bullish, Sell or Bear, with a chart showing support, resistance and momentum. Run your holdings against it. When your rules say hold and the board says Sell, that's a position worth a second look before Monday.

Bear
"Managing risk is where the Equity Story team excel. … Successful investment is about maximising the upside and limiting any damage on the downside."
Stephen M.
Reason 08 · Method

See the rules behind every stop

In week one David takes you through CTM Foundations: planning the exit, sizing the position, setting the stop. You'll see why each stop sits where it does. Keep what fits your process and tighten what doesn't. Bank the fives, cut the twos, and let the maths do the rest.

Six gains of 5% compound to about +34%: illustrative arithmetic, not a promise or forecast. The work is in cutting the losers early, every time, which is where most private systems slip.

"I strayed believing this particular stock was going much higher, but it never did and I paid the price for not following their advice. The system works…"
Chris D.
"the continual warnings- don't be greedy-sell off losers- be patient build balanced portfolios-etc all commonsense stuff that most of us tend to forget without the constant reminders"
David
Reason 09 · For you

Made for people who've traded for decades

You don't need the basics explained twice, and nobody will do it. Members who've traded for decades come for something else: a second opinion they can question, twice a week, from two analysts who show their reasoning. Plain English, no jargon for the sake of it, and a room of members asking sharp questions.

"I've been trading stock for 42 years… Part sceptic part believer in the charts. … I highly recommend this to new and old, like me, investors."
Matthew B.
"I have tried many other trade recomendation programs … and none compare. The difference is they teach you and explain why and why not to invest in a particular stock."
Steven D.

FAQ

Questions people ask before joining

Will this replace my own system?

Only if you want it to. Use the analysts' buy-under, stop and target as a check on your own levels, and bring the differences to the live sessions twice a week. You decide what to act on, through your own broker. Investor Plus is general advice.

I already use charts. What does Pete add?

Peter Kopetz runs the fundamental research behind every recommendation, with 23+ years in equity research and a focus on quality ASX small and mid caps. If your process is mostly price, that's the half you'd otherwise have to build yourself.

Do your picks always go up?

No, and nobody honest will promise you that. Losses are part of investing and no approach avoids them. That's why every formal recommendation comes with stop-loss guidance, so you decide ahead of time how much you're prepared to lose. Stops aren't guaranteed: prices can gap past them. The method works on weekly charts, so judge a call over weeks. As one member put it: "They do not get 100% of their calls correct, but they do very well."

Is Equity Story licensed?

Yes. Equity Story Pty Ltd holds Australian Financial Services Licence 343937 and is part of Aland Equity Group Limited (ASX: AEG).

I'm fairly new to this. Will I keep up?

Yes. David covers the exit-first foundations in your first week, and you can bring any question to the live sessions, however basic it feels.

How much time does it take?

About 15–20 minutes a weekday for the daily video, plus the Sunday pick. The live sessions are optional, and the recordings sit in the archive if you can't make it.

Is this personal financial advice?

No. Investor Plus is general advice. It doesn't take your personal objectives, financial situation or needs into account. Consider whether it's right for you, and speak to a licensed adviser if you need personal advice.

What happens after I join?

You get instant access to today's video, the archive and the link for this week's live sessions. In your first week David takes you through the exit-first basics. You trade through your own broker; Equity Story never handles your money or places trades for you.

How does the refund policy work?

Give it a proper go: watch the daily videos, come along to at least one Ask The Analyst session and have a look at the weekend reports. If you decide within 30 days of joining that it's not for you, email support@equitystory.com.au and ask for a refund of your $247. Refunds are subject to our refund policy and its conditions. See the terms and conditions.

How does billing and renewal work?

It's $247 a year. Your membership renews automatically at $247 each year unless you cancel, and you'll get an email before it renews. Cancel any time before your renewal date by emailing support@equitystory.com.au and you won't be charged again.

Will you try to sell me other things?

Equity Story runs other things, such as the full Cincinnati Trading Method training and live events, and members hear about them. You don't need any of them to get full value from Investor Plus.

How is this different from other share newsletters?

Plenty of services give you the buy. Investor Plus gives you the exit plan as well, and twice a week you can put your questions to the analysts who made the call.

Do I need a particular broker?

No. Use whichever broker you like. Equity Story doesn't handle your money or place trades for you.
